OT-ish: Southfield QB Isaiah Marshall commits to Kansas

Southfield (MI) Southfield quarterback Isaiah Marshall committed to Kansas today. He's a 3-star, the #38 quarterback, and #468 overall in the 2024 class.

Marshall made news a few years ago when he was offered by Michigan in the 7th grade, but that's why those early offers are so confusing. He was short at the time, and even though he's now listed at 6'0" and 199 lbs., I wouldn't be surprised if he's 5'10" or 5'11".

It's great for him to get a Power 5 opportunity, though. He also reported offers from Cincinnati, Kentucky, Maryland, Ole Miss, Pitt, and West Virginia.

Meanwhile, the Jadyn Davis sweepstakes continue...

Kansas was respectable in 2022, even though they faded late in the season.

I'll be curious to see if the Jayhawks can approach their 2007 form, especially in the reshuffled Big 12.

Marshall is an intriguing add, for sure.

They did fade late, but I really like Lance Leipold, the head coach there. I think he's going to do a good job. I don't know if they can get back to that 2007 form, but I think he's going to do well enough to propel himself to a bigger job here in the next couple years.

Size be damned. This kid was neck-and-neck with Dante Moore back in the PAL days. Still a D1 QB I always thought but he just didn't get to the level that it looked like he was heading towards (size a big factor with that). I wish him the best and to make a name for himself in the new Big 12.

As much as I despise a lot that goes on in and around PAL, the fact that they have now on a consistency started to develop some really high level QBs is encouraging. Marshall, Moore, Bryce Underwood (2025) and keep an eye out for the most recent PAL QB Andrew "Deuce" Knight II; a 2026 out of Sterling Heights Stevenson.
