OT-ish: anyone else getting charged for the 247 free trial? UPDATE: NOW WITH MOAR HAPPY ENDING

Submitted by Wenham Wolverine on

I know many of us took advantage of the offer a while back when 247 was advertising a free trial for the remainder of the year.
Fast forward to now, and they've charged my credit card for a month of access. Anyone else have this experience?

UPDATE!

got a reply from support, while he says I signed up for the wrong thing (which I'm 99.9% sure I didn't...), he immediately offered a refund and to "change" my subscription so as to get the trial through the end of the year. good enough.

however, since they're claiming we all screwed up and it wasn't a bug, you should probably email support.

Anyone business/service will want your credit card.  Scout, ESPN, and more offer subscriptions and ask for a credit card.  Something like Netflix does too.  The obvious answer is they want you to either forget to cancel it before it runs up so they can charge you, or you call in to cancel and they "make you an offer you couldn't refuse"
