they clearly improved from Year 1 to Year 2 --- actually won a B1G game and were competitive in a few others.  They weren't competitive at all in conference play in 2013.

It's probably a bit premature to write Hazell off as a "shitty coach" just yet.  Let's see 2015 as a data point first.

Why people get behind the wheel after drinking. There is so much more to lose than to gain from the situation. Possible gains: you make it home SAFE. Possible Losses: Your life, someone else's life, your license, your money, your time... Coming from s family with long history of alcoholism I still can't wrap my head around this. I hope we can chalk this up to this kid being irresponsible college kid and he gets the help and guidance he needs to not have this problem surface again.

Young dumb and full of cum. But the lack of public transportation king of gets me... I live in Metamora Mi and can get a taxi to from flint, royal oak god forbid the Yac. Plus there's always a friend you can call, your an asshole if your drunk friend calls asking for a ride and you don't lend them a hand. There's usually free food or money involved in that process. I always take the free food option, drunk people are always hungry AF and do t realize how much we are spending at TBell haha. But seriously guys, don't drink and drive. Get lifted and let a friend drive.

College kid caught drinking under age twice equals signs of alcoholism? Diversionary programs are just classes you take rather than be charged with a misdemeanor. You usually just pay a small fee and might have to do community service. It's not a rehab or anything. I DO NOT condone drinking and driving at all, especially with Uber and Lyft being so popular on and around the general vacinity of college campuses. That being said I think most college students have gotten in the car with a drunk driver or made the mistake of getting behind the wheel themselves. Most just don't get caught.

I mean, he's the brother of a former player (a couple of years removed) who received interest but no offer from a coaching staff that isn't here anymore.  If the bar is below that, it's a pretty damn low bar.

It's funny how everyone defends these athletes saying that they're young and make mistakes. "Kids" that are the same age in the military would get the boot so fast for getting a DUI. Rules are rules

There's a bit more responsibility in the military than college or most jobs. Handling live ordinance and ammo, top secret mission intel and live combat are a bit more important than football. The military should have stricter standards and less tolerance.

through a mutual friend at Purdue. He's always been a great kid, until he started drinking and getting uncontrollably drunk. I remember one instance he flipped a girl off her mattress and had to have half the OL restrain him from going apeshit. He's a scary drunk man, I really hope he gets help. I'm not telling this story to shame Gelen, because we all have demons, but rather to help people understand alcoholism can affect anyone.
