The Red Cross has upped their game with their Blood Donor App.

Once you're on you can find Michigan's team on the impact tab.

Please join if you are able - especially if you haven't already formed this habit.

The University of Michigan has all of 756 people currently affiliated on our team.  That is good enough for 4th in the B1G behind Penn State, Ohio State, and Nebraska.  The app is a relatively new thing but somehow lesser institutions are able to recruit more arms despite having a smaller alumni base.

Here's a quick hitter on the top teams in the B1G and some others...

The Huskers actually only have 480 people on their team yet they have donated more blood per arm than any other team by a long shot.  I  didn't scrape this data I pecked it old school style but I don't see anyone close to Nebraska (most teams average ~14.)  Go Big Red!

Here's Sammy...that is a team worth joining/keeping in mind..

That's cool. I've been giving (or trying to give, at least) blood a couple times a year lately. I'm a gallon donor!

Just joined the team. Now we have 760. Let's keep it going!

FYI, looks like the calculation is (Lives / 3 ) / Members = Donations per Member.

I have 10 donations and 30 lives impacted.

OA - you made this post worthwhile.  Thanks.

It truly is an easy thing with a very high return on investment.  I give platelets every 2-3 weeks and the impact is huge.  You only need to go to one event where you meet someone (usually the parent of someone) who is or was in need to prioritize this in your life.

There is a reason football teams do this.  Habits like this are good for team human.

Thanks again - Go Blue!
