OT- Frozen Four ticket price survey

Submitted by Wolverine In Exile on
I need the collective wisdom of mgobloggers--- I'll be in DC next week for work through Friday evening, so I thought a fun thing to do would be catch the late Frozen Four game after work on Thursday night. I'm planning on trying to get tickets for the late game from fans of the losing team in the early game as they leave the arena. Two questions: 1) From the people who have done this before, about how much under face value should I expect to pay? I've heard the stories of people getting them for free, but I'd like to be prepared with cash in hand if possible. 2) Anyone know what the scalping / ticket resale laws are in the DC? Is there a general prohibition, a distance from the arena, open season for capitalism (hold Obama jokes please)?

Finding tickets to a game probably would not be that difficult. Even for the final. I know people who did it last year, and I know losing fans are forever trying to unload their tickets at NCAA hockey events.

Actually, I don't think that this will work. There is one ticket for both semifinals (i.e., 2 games in one session), and NCAA policy has always been "no re-entry". Anybody leaving after the first game will not have a ticket that will get you in to the second game, since the ticket will already have been scanned (or torn).
