OT: Dish Network Problems

Submitted by GOBLUE4EVR on
just wondering if there is any one out there in M GO BLOG world that lives in a Edward Rose Managed Apartment Complex and who also go stuck with the options of either getting there shitty beyond basic cable or getting dish network? when they complex first brought us the option of getting dish net 3 years ago it was great because there basic cable was a joke. i think i got like 30 channels for $25 a month and if i wanted to add any more channels it was $10 per channel. so i signed up with dish net and got americas top 200 channels. the first 2 weeks was horrible as they were working out the bugs and the only channel that worked for me was the nasa channel. it did finally get up and running. but since september when my wife and i moved into a larger apartment we got a receiver for every room and have had nothing but problems with it since. i think the longest we've gone with being able to watch tv is 2 weeks. all of the other times it cuts out constantly or its searching for a singnal. right now i have all 3 receivers unplugged so that they can reset and i am sitting here watching normal tv which consists of 8 channels and there is nothing on. is anyone else having this problem?? and if so what have you done to fix the problem???

I have Dish, I live in a complex managed by Cambridge Partners Inc in Grand Rapids. I've had some trouble, but not too much, with losing signal, etc. In a few really bad rain storms the satellite was in and out constantly, and during a few heavy snowfalls it's had issues. But nothing like what you described. Whenever my signal would go in and out, I would just unplug it, like you did, then search again for transponders and re-download all the guide content. Hopefully your dish starts working better. At least CBS (M hoops today) and NBC (Super Bowl) can be watched on just basic cable!

it took for me to post on here and everything would be fine. cause i just plugged them all back in and they are working again. granted the one in my living room doesn't have all of the channels but now i don't have to watch saturday morning cartoons any more. i know the whole thing of searching for transponders, do it everytime. i'm just supper pissed this morning about the whole thing. i better be able to see the mich/nd game tonight, FSN is one of the channels i'm missing right now.

My problems with Dish have been on the billing side, not on the quality side. However, I would recommend staying with cable if possible. The bundle for Dish is a AT&T/Dish network billing quagmire. I was stoked when I got it but 2 days later Charter signed a deal with BTN.

get a outside cable service here. i either have to go with there shitty cable, dish, or regular tv. i could get direct tv but i don't want to sign a contract cause i don't know how long we'll be living here for. trust me if i we could get wow or even comcast i would do it.

I've had great service with Dish in my area (houston). I hardly ever lose signal, if it is, it generally due to heavy rain (or that 2 month period when we lost power due to the hurricane ergo not meaning much anyways). I just wish I got the BTN in the America's top 250. I had it until the comcast agreement. Now I have to pay extra for the sports package. I have yet to budget in the extra $5 bucks a month.
