OT - Detroit FC Scores?
Rooting for my Gunners to close out their campaign with a victory and a Uefa Champions League berth. While watching, I think "I wonder how Detroit FC did last night."
Well, after twenty minutes of searching multiple websites, I can't find anything. Thus, I have two questions.
1. How did they do last night?
2. When you're trying to get any new enterprise up and running, especially a sports club, I think access to important information for fans/potential clientel is one of the most important things you can make sure you're on top of. I am a huge sports nut and enjoy following many minor league and amatuer teams. I guess what I am asking is, does anyone else get this frustrated when you can't even find a damn score? I have sympathy for the fact that the team is new and in a lower tier league, but I shouldn't have to sign up for a twitter account just to go and search through your tweets to find a score. I know the scores won't be on ESPN. But the least you can do is post it to your website after the game is over. After twenty minutes I just gave up. The NPSL website has nothing. What is the point of playing games if you aren't even going to let your fan base know the results?
That's my rant.
1-1 draw against AFC Cleveland:
Detroit City FC tied their inaugural game on saturday 1-1 against AFC Cleveland. Detroit scored first in the 11th minute and Cleveland tied the game in the 35th
I was there. We outplayed Cleveland, only gave up a goal on a mistake by the goalie (rushed out way too early). Really should have won, but it was a fantastic time regardless.
it was a lot more fun than my wife and i were expecting. the fans were at least as involved as the students were at a michigan playoff soccer game we went to last year, and the players really seemed to appreciate it.
On a semi-related but not really related note....Apparently the accepted Championship Celebration song in England is The Beatles "Hey Jude"...Man City is rocking out to it as they lift the Premier League trophy, I like it (i.e. both Man City and The Beatles)!!
Hey Jude is just the official anthem of Manchester City, not the Premier League in general.
You learn something new everyday
...what the fuck are you doing?
