OT: Bill Simmons on Sabermetrics and Brian's embarrassing Question

Submitted by M-Wolverine on
So, in case you missed Bill Simmons latest mailbag, his first letter has him going over "Dorkapalooza", which is basically a sabermetrics conference as it relates to sports-
Three groups are involved … Group A: Smart people with mathematical backgrounds figuring out new ways to evaluate sports. Group B: Smart people without mathematical backgrounds determining which of these advances are more useful than others. Group C: Outsiders (fans and media members) figuring out how to digest these concepts without being overwhelmed by them.
If his view on the conference, and the description of the big sports name who attended, interest you, you can find the rest here. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/part1/100312 It's just the first question, but a nice lead in if you want to Google more about it. Little did I know, that part two would have this question- http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/part2/100312
Q: Don't you think that the sex in the "final three" episode of "The Bachelor" has to be the best sex ever? Think about it, these women know that not only do they have to sleep with him, but they HAVE to rock his world. I think we need a term for this type of experience, and I can't think of anyone more qualified to coin one. -- Brian, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Uhm, yeah..... ;-)
