OT: Army vs RIT Hockey

Submitted by formerlyanonymous on
Apparently RIT's bench had some words with the visiting section of Army's home crowd in hockey:
Dear Army Hockey Fans, You are among our most prized assets and I wanted to take this opportunity to apologize for what you were forced to sit through during Saturday's Army vs. RIT hockey game, especially those behind the visitor's bench. The behavior and language exhibited by the RIT players, coaches and staff is something we will not tolerate and I want to assure you that it will be addressed with the visiting team's administration as well as the Atlantic Hockey Association. Our goal is for you to have a wonderful experience at all of our facilities and to be forced to deal with profanity is unacceptable. We strive to provide the best atmosphere in college athletics and I want to personally apologize to those fans at Tate Rink on Saturday who were offended and outraged at the language. Please know that we will continue to do our best to provide a first-rate experience for our fans that are so vital to our cadet-athletes and their successes. Again, my apologies for Saturday night. Thank you for your continued loyal support. Go Army! Kevin Anderson Director of Athletics United States Military Academy

Read some other accounts and it sounds like the RIT team went all-out douchebag, prick, bitch, whore on them. I'm all for rowdy and rough play, but when you're A) the visiting team, and B) AT FRAKKIN ARMY, you probably need to tone down the language, even after an emotional incident. If there is one set of schools that deserves a little respect when visiting them, it's Army & Air Force.
