OT: Ann Arbor snubbed for 2015 International Champions Cup
After hosting the largest crowd to watch a soccer match in North America, Ann Arbor was not selected to host a match in the 2015 event.
I didn't get to go last year and was hoping to get another chance this year. This sucks!

Is it because the field isn't regulation size?

Remember we had it last year.
There was some kind of comment a week or two ago during a weekly presser with Hackett where he said we were willing but for unstated reasons the two sides couldn't make it work.
That said (shameless plug coming).......if any of you need your soccer fix, come down to Detroit City Football Club's UofM Day on June 28th. Its only $13 a ticket and $5 of the ticket is kicked back to a UM Scholarship for UM students who either have cancer or whose direct family members do. Here's the link to buy tix:

I didn't realize this was already known. Could have saved myself some disappointment...
Good plug though, do you know if SEC coaches are allowed to attend?

Ive been asking this question and never got a straight answer.
Wasn't Les Miles at SMSB last year?
How does that differ from speaking at the event Harbaugh put together?

I think if they would go every other year, it would be for the best.

I don't think it was a snub. Didn't Hackett say that both parties were interested but they couldn't work out a good date and have the field ready for the game against Oregon State?
Once a year might be too much, though I really did enjoy the game match. Perhaps every other year?

from the Daily, April 16th: "Despite mutual interest, the International Champions Cup won’t be returning to Michigan Stadium this summer, Athletic Director Jim Hackett told the Daily.
Hackett confirmed he had been in conversations with tournament organizers as recently as last week about using the Big House as a venue, but scheduling issues proved too difficult to overcome.
“We wanted to make it happen,” Hackett said Wednesday night.
Hackett cited a desire to have Michigan Stadium ready for the football team’s Sept. 12 home opener against Oregon State."
Does this mean we'll probably never do it again? Aren't we going to have the same time challenges in getting the field ready every year?

I think there were also some comments that the players didn't like the turf inthe stadium. Not sure if that's a factor.
