It would be nice to get a good NFL DC, but I just don't see this happening, I just hope we don't land GR, it will be a sad sad day if that were to happen :(

can you compare our program to USC's? I've always thought they were a tier above us. It says in that article that it took some convincing by Carroll. I'd imagine we'd have to throw in a bit more money than USC in order to land a NFL coordinator...unless they had ties to the program. In that radio interview RR did that got posted up on this site, he said he wasn't going to pay anywhere near that kind of money. If Pete set the bar at 1 million, then I'd kiss any hopes of an NFL coordinator goodbye, save for alumni.

He may be a great coach you never know, but this is a reach. Hiring Mike Shanahan's offensive coordinator is like hiring Bellichicks defensive coordinator. Shanahan called the plays and designed the offense. It's a risky move. This is not like hiring Rex Ryan or Norm Chow to run your unit.

We can get an NFL DC we just have to pay right. I can't think of a singe person or a single job on the face of the earth where this isn't true.

I'm also about 90% there's a backdoor head coach in waiting deal here. Carroll is about 58 and Bates was a hot commodity, it doesn't make sense otherwise.
