On paper they look good. They just beat Marquette by 20. But Maryland is always expected to be great and then falls a little short. As long as we sweep them and the sweep msu I’ll be happy

Any ranking below #1 is too low. Remove preseason expectations and look simply at the body of work and we are clearly #1. It should be unanimous as well.
We will come in somewhere around 10 and it will be total bullshit.

They are a combination of preseason expectations plus how long it has been since you’ve lost. They have always been that.
Statistics that measure what you’re looking for exist: for example, Bart Torvik measures WAB (Wins Above a Bubble team). Michigan leads the country in that statistic, with 2.3.
Would you have had Stephen F. Austin first in the poll last week? Prior to the “Battle 4 Atlantis” (gag me), they probably had the best win...

The March polls are all that matter. No way this team wasn't going to be a top 20 team and a major pain in the butt come tourney time just with Teske, Simpson and Livers. Howard and his staff are playing a style that is attractive to kids who want to go to the NBA and who wouldn't want to play for Juwan now? Castleton and Wagner will also be much better come March. Enjoy this ride.
