Naz Hillmon and USA win U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup
Michigan sophomore Naz Hillmon and the USA U19 Women’s Basketball team defeated Australia, 74-70 to win the World Cup in OT. The USA was down 3 without the ball with 14 seconds to go in regulation, before a flagrant foul gave them new life. Caitlin Clark went 1/2 from the charity stripe before Van Lith hit the shot out of the inbound to send it to OT.
The Wolverine Hillmon went to work in OT, grabbing four boards and a critical two points, tying the game early in OT. Australia would never lead again. Hillmon finished the game with 11 rebounds and 6 points, ending a very strong tournament for her. She finishes with a tidy 7.4 points per game and 42 rebounds.
Way to go, Hillmatic!! Go Blue!
42 rebounds a game is impressive, but she is 6'2".
Raz-a-MI-Naz!
Looking forward to seeing her continue her growth and development at Michigan. She is already pretty awesome.
