Naurato on Walleye
Been following the news on the new ECHL team down in Toledo-- the Toledo Walleye (mostly b/c I think the logo, team name, and colors are fairly unique and cool-looking).
Anyway, Brandon Naurato seems to have caught on (OMG- forgive the pun) with the Walleye. Yeah hockey alums-- even if it is an ECHL team! Wonder if they're going to try and get more UM/MSU alums on the team to draw interest. Looks like the initial roster is CCHA / local college team heavy.

I'm glad that he was able to "catch on" with a team. Just wish it was with an NHL team. The link says he has an invite with the Griffins so hopefully good things for him in the future.

Toledo is, I believe, sent prospects affiliated with both Chicago and Detroit.. Invited to Griffins camp means probably someone from Red Wings wants to get a look.

I love that there is a hockey team named the Walleye.

I just can't figure out if I want the blue one or the black alternate.... love the walleye fins on the shoulders.

I just went to look at the Jersey, and I noticed that they had a retro jersey, it seems odd to me that a team that has yet to ever play a game has a retro jersey

Not to be a dick, but I highly doubt Naurato will ever suit up in a NHL uniform. I wouldn't put the AHL out of the question, but I definitely do not see him in the NHL. He was a decent college player that worked well on PP unit at times, but other than that he was very average (at best).
This is nothing against him, but from my hockey background I just do not see him going much further than Toledo.

I don't think anyone was asserting that. Direct to ECHL players have no NHL future.
