Mywan Jackson commits to UNC
CB prospect Mywan Jackson has committed to UNC citing that he thinks they are an up and coming team and I am sure Angelo Hadley committing there made that decision easier. My question is how many recruits have they taken now? It seems to be up around 26-27 at least.

They are an up and coming team. I think they will be competing for many ACC championships for a few years. Unless Butch Davis pulls a Dewayne and Peace's out.

How much are they paying these kids... I could see if we were talking basketball, and kids tripping over themselves at a chance to play, but football at UNC... really.

Butch Davis is a very good coach and sent quite a few players to the NFL when he was at Miami.

Also, North Carolina isn't completely devoid of football tradition. They produced the likes of:
-Julius Peppers
-Ebenezer Ekuban (one of the great football names)
-Ronald Curry
-the immortal Jonathan Linton

Dre Bly too.

That and the ACC licks nuts...might as well play for the only proven winner.

Second in Heisman Trophy voting both years. He is usually the one many point to as one of their all time greats, along with a linebacker by the name of Laurence Taylor from the early '80's.
UNC has a beautiful campus, very similar to UM, as Chapel Hill is similar (but nicer) to Ann Arbor. Only the weather is much better. Keenan Stadium is a real pretty place to watch a football game.

Lawrence Taylor was overrated. It's not like he changed the game or anything. I'd take Lamarr Woodley over LT any day.

And have drawn in some great recruits this class. So while they may not have the overall tradition of Michigan they are building on something and have the right coach with which to do so.
