Muschamp to Auburn

Submitted by Jim Harbaugh S… on
Heard on Sporting News Radio that Will Muschamp will be Auburn's new head coach. The head coach in waiting thing at Texas didn't last too long, wonder what the buyout for this is gonna be. I'm guessing that he will not be coaching in the bowl game, so that is good news for the OSU offense.

FWIW. Could be just a rumor. But it would be pretty hilarious if true. What's the point of making someone a head coach in waiting? I thought it was to keep exactly this sort of thing from happening!

If true, does this put a bullet in the head of the "coach in waiting" movement? And will it encourage Chip Kelly to spring for that Syracuse job?

This situation is goofy. Muschamp has released a statement saying he has never interviewed for the job. Some in the Auburn fan base are under the impression Todd Graham has been offered the job. Then, there are the news gathering folks in Mobile, WFSA Channel 12, who are reporting that Auburn is close to offering the job to Steve Spurrier. Expect this to get even more confusing as the day gets long.
