More Duncan Robinson praise
Lots has been posted about Duncan Robinson but I figure this one from Sports Illustrated is worthy to add to the pile, especially the money quote:
"The former Division III player is arguably the game’s best three-point shooter, and as a catch-and-shoot threat, he’s among the greatest in league history."

Bring back Dak & Dunc Podcast! That was almost unreasonably entertaining...

Gotta be honest, sort of tired of the “former D3” angle when talking about him. Yes that’s where he started, but he was a damn good player in arguably the best D1 bball conference in America before being in the league.

Amen, let's put a stake in it. It's drifting into the days of NBC TV introductions for Notre Dame's football defense circa 2005: "Starting at safety, Tom Zbikowski, who used to be a boxer...." It got so bad that I'm pretty sure Tom Hammond and Mike Golic actually thought his last name was Tom Zbikowski-who-used-to-be-a-boxer.

Best 6th man in Michigan basketball history!

Hm, the quote that caught my eye instead was
Robinson will likely earn more than Joe Harris’ $75 million. It’s possible Robinson earns upwards of $90 million.
which is absolutely bananas
Also poaching this stat from a reddit thread
Duncan shot 44.6% from 3 on 8.3 attempts per game
Klay's best season was 44.0% on 7.1 attempts per game

That is 142 more points in an 82 game season than Klay from 3.
That's pretty good, considering Klay is good, the closest "well known" replacement player of recent history.
Seen a lot of stats on Duncan on this blog, this is just one of many to show how understated he is to a team's success.

Klay Thompson might be the most underrated player in the league. One of the best 3 point shooters in league history and an elite defender. Not sure what he will be after missing 2 years though.

I hope that wherever he signs is a good fit, stylistically. If he had gotten picked up by a franchise like the Pistons things may not have gone this way.
Of course that’s easy for me to say. He may just want to grab the biggest contract he can get, and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Biggest difference between Duncan and Klay is Klay is an elite defensive player. Both are great shooters but Klay provides more value in both shooting and defense.
Either way, Duncan could very well get $100 millon contract after this season.

And don't forget, he's so humble that he has a LinkedIn profile.
LINK.

I think we need to start a campaign for a Brendan Quinn profile on Duncan's absolutely unheard of rise in the NBA
