Monte Kiffin leaving Tampa

Maybe I am a bit late but I just found out today. It is a good hire, but I am also a little bit skeptical. It maybe a little awkward for Lane being his dad's boss. What would happen if the defense ends up sucking? Does he get fired?

Ask Rod Marinelli and Joe Barry how that works out.
fortunately for Monte, he knows his shit (seemingly).
and yes, this is a few weeks old.

...it's been speculated ever since Lane-to-UT rumors started. But has it been formally announced before very recent? I didn't hear.
Honestly, I don't know if this is good or bad for Tennessee. I'm still scratching my head over the hire of Monte's kid. We'll see.

tennessee will suck forever now. Lane as coach sucks. auburn and UT have made terrible decisions.
But i dont care. who really does anyway.

It's like bizarro Joe/Jay Paterno.

The difference between this and other NFL to college moves is that Monte, many years ago, was a D1-A head coach and a top assistant to the likes of Tom Osbourne and Lou Holtz. He knows how to teach kids and he knows how to scheme a defense.
It cannot be understated that Monte is Pete Carroll's mentor, see how that move worked out?

Eric Berry is probably licking his chops.

I'd like to see how the "Tampa Two" defense is going to fair against "spread" teams.

...that it blows donkey balls in Detroit against any offense.

You could put any defensive system out there, when "Paris Lenon" appears on the top of your depth chart, you've got problems.

they turned the Tampa-2 into the "Bend but don't break"... a sweat defending.

I think in Detroit its more Bend and Break, sometimes break without even bending.

Yeah. The main reason it sucks in Detroit is because of our lousy talent.
