Michigan at MSU 2018

I wish I had a great video that is designed to get you excited for the season as a whole but this is not that.  For those of you on twitter I’m sure you’ve seen the now famous photo of Bush staring down a row of Spartans is making the rounds again and that sparked me to make this video.  I’ve just started playing around with iMovie so it’s a bit rough but ultimately I think it’s fun.  Anyway, hope you animals enjoy it.  Go Blue!

Also, the song.......released in ‘94.

I am getting an error message. But I have little doubt that I will enjoy the video once I am able to see it.

Edit: saw it and enjoyed every minute of it.  Bush getting the late sack was just perfect.

I was there.  Sat in the opposite end zone of almost all the action.

The following year, I sat in the OTHER end zone for the Penn State game where Henne connected with Manningham on the final play.  Naturally the play happened in the other end zone.  Had to watch the crowd's reaction to know whether we had won or not.

I also saw all those.

I was in the student section for Wangler to Carter; for the rest of those you listed and nearly everything else I've seen in my 42 years of season tickets, it's been section 36 since 1980.

Lots of memories and most of them good; we now await the start of the 2019 season and more great memories to be made in what will be my 40th year in section 36 and 43rd overall.

This is trending on Twitter since ESPN brought up the issue again and as usual, MSU is butt-hurt about the unfairness of everyone.

Similar thing with Penn State-when they joined the conference, for at least the 1st 3 years they had a bye before playing Michigan. A couple years later we beat them and we had a bye the week before. I was flipping around and caught some Penn St football show (I think JoePed's idiot brother was one of the commentators) and they were whining about having to overcome that unfair hand. Great stuff.

Well, that was a whole issue that JoePa specifically requested as part of Penn State joining the big ten.  He didn't just want his bye weeks, he said they HAD to be before they played OSU and Michigan and the big ten said, "sure."

After four seasons, that stopped.  And eventually Michigan got to have a bye week before playing them every few years, which was nice.  But just that the big ten agreed to that in the first place is still so stupid.

MSU payers are going to be so pissed when they try to ruin our midfield in retaliation, just to find out that we have field turf.

Bush is the epitome of a bad ass mother fucker. I will greatly miss the opportunity to watch that dude play at Michigan. I will be purchasing his Steelers jersey.

They really felt tough with 21 guys advancing down the field against two. (How'd that work out in Tiananmen Square?) Instead they contributed to the enduring lore of Michigan victories against MSU. Seemed annoying at the time, but with the advantage of hindsight we can all say, not for the first time: Thanks, Marcus Dantonius!

Hopefully we lay a serious hurt on them this year and begin to open up more daylight in the series.

That was great! I’m SO excited about this coming fall, I can’t wait! Will really miss Bush & Winovich but it’s going to be a great fall!

Onwenu and Ruiz absolutely pummel Raquan Williams and drive him 5 yards beyond the LOS on that Mason TD.  That is beautiful.

I love Bush and what he did and he's a beast forever in Michigan lore.  When we heard about it before the game, several friends said "this is dumb, why give Sparty something to get riled up?"  But as always in these situations, you have to know who did the thing.  Was it Joe Bolden driving a stake, someone who seemed like a good guy but shied away from contact as a MLB?  Not great Bob.  Was it Bush doing whatever the hell he wanted?  Listen Bush doesn't give a shit if you're pumped up or not, he's going to run you down and crush you.  Was it Higdon, looking terribly uncertain, giving a timid guarantee?  Or was it Harbaigh the QB, who may as well have sat his balls in the chair next to him, matter-of-factly telling the assembled the outcome of the next week's game?

And I love Hudson too, lol, those Spartan boys noped right the fuck out of that one.  "Yep, let's just go ahead break this unbreakable 'phalanx' here for this gentleman.  There you are sir. "

I’m glad we gave them a taste of their own medicine.  I think it was important for that team to establish itself as the best team in this state after more than a few soul crushing years against them.

that being said, I’m ready for us to beat state soundly, act like it is a foregone conclusion, and walk away from beating them like it was no big deal.  Acting like we did last year only emphasized to state how much importance we placed on that game.  I’m ready for state to feel insignificant and defeated once again. Go Blue!

Is under 100 yards total offense on your home field against your biggest rival "defeat with dignity"?

Good times.
