Michigan on Halloween: Trick...or Treat?

Submitted by physics guy on
Michigan has played 17 times on Halloween, amassing an overall record of 12-4-1. Some fun facts from the Bentley archive: the first Halloween game a was a 4-0 loss to Harvard in 1881. In 1903, Michigan and Minnesota fought to a 6-6 tie in the "we forgot our jug can you please mail it back to us" game. In 1925 Michigan took down Navy 54-0. The Wolverines and Illini have met twice on Halloween, with Illinois taking the 1936 game by a score of 9-6 and Michigan winning in 1942, 28-14. Michigan has not lost on Halloween since 1959, when Wisconsin won by a score of 19-10, and last played on Halloween in 1998, defeating the Gophers 15-10. So what will it be tomorrow....scary good....or just scary?

I would love for Michigan to treat the Illini to an egging on the scoreboard, as in a goose egg for the Illini! But will definitely settle for the win no matter how it comes.
