Michigan 2010 Recruiting Class

Submitted by MinorforPresident on
So while the 2009 class continues taking shape I started noticing just how special the 2010 class could be. We already have 2 great early commits in Ricardo Miller and Jeremy Jackson and there names seem to pop up a lot in interviews with other kids in this class when asked who they speak with. With some great in-state talent, most of whom has mutual interest in M, we could have a phenomenal class. Devin Gardner, Robert Bolden, Nick Hill, Dior Mathis, and Austin White are all highly rated and from Michgan so they are all posibilities. Add in other names like M Rob, Lo Wood, Robert Crisp, Dejoshua Johnson, etc and this could be the breakout class for Dick Rod.

Dick Rod? You trying to impersonate a Sparty? lol Lots of big names out there in 2010 early on. From what I've heard, Michigan isn't really in the picture for Bolden at this time, they seem to be focusing in on Gardner more. If and when OSU gets involved in Gardner's recruitment, we'll have a battle on our hands. We closed the gap on Miami for Dior Mathis, and if (when) we reel Campbell back in, I think that will be another factor that sways Mathis towards Michigan. Nick Hill I believe grew up a Michigan fan and would jump quickly at an offer. Austin White...is interesting. All the smoke of MSU starting to back off him combined with my conversation with the coach at my former HS a couple weeks ago where he said that White is a huge prima donna and is difficult to coach makes me pause when I think about Michigan going after him. It'll be interesting to see how William Gholston's recruitment plays out. The longer it goes, the better shot Michigan has, because he's definitely a Spartan lean at this point, and OSU will be involved in that, too. Still makes me shake my head to think that Michigan turned away from Gholston to go after Eugene Germany. Hindsight is 20/20, I guess. Still feel really good about M-Rob, even though he's recently said he wants to play it out. Lo Wood will be a highly rated guy and he really wants a UM offer. De'Joshua Johnson is an FSU lean, but that's not insurmountable. Crisp and Seantrel Henderson are locks for 5 stars; not sure how much of a shot UM will have. I think UM's best shot at a highly rated OL prospect in 2010 will be with Christian Lombard. Early on it looks like a Michigan/Notre Dame battle; it sure would be nice to take advantage of the uncertainty in South Bend and actually WIN an OL recruiting battle with the Irish. Also, RB Brennan Clay is on the Rivals 2010 250 to watch list, and he's Tate Forcier's partner in crime in the Scripps Ranch backfield. And he's already got an M offer, you have to think we'll be the favorite there.

No offense, but I disagree with most of what you just said. - Dior Mathis - I've talked to his teammates, and he's just having fun with the process right now, and having fun traveling. This kid calls himself "the best cornerback in the state of michigan ever." I don't think the time thing plays into just Michigan, there's a lot of other schools involved here. I think he took a step back and thought about how many offers he's going to get, and thought he'd ride it out. I think our chances are pretty good, but it's too early for him. And it scares me that he hasn't mentioned Miami yet, when it was his dream school. - Robert Bolden - We're going to be involved with both Gardner and Bolden, for the just in case factor. My sense from interviewing Gardner is that Michigan will have to work really hard to beat out OSU for him, I think at this point we have a better shot at Bolden. - William Gholston - If recruiting ended for him right now, it would be between OSU and MSU. He has even turned the Cass Tech rivalry into a college thing, and talks crap to them about Michigan. I don't think he ends up at M. Again, I don't think time will favor M here. - Robert Crisp - I talk to him atleast 3 times a week, pretty in depth. At this point he has no idea where he wants to go, and is open to anything. I just talked to him last night, and he said distance won't be a factor. Part of the reason why he liked Duke growing up was because of the education, and he wants to find a school with a good mix of a good football program and good academics. Michigan is up there right now with him. - Seantrel Henderson - He's from Minnesota, and likes MSU and M early on, along with Minnesota. To be honest with you, from interviewing Christian Lombard, if they decided right now, I would bet on either Crisp or Henderson over Lombard right now. I think we're up there with Lombard, but he talks with Chris Watt a lot, and I just think there's something else there.

why hasn't Michigan offered Lo Wood a scholarship yet? i watched his video and he seems to be a 4 star CB in my mind. With teammate Jeremy Gallon already a UM commit, i figured we would go hard after this kid especially considering Marvin Robinson is a good friend of his. Having Lo and Ricardo singing Michigan praise in Marvin's ear, our chances of landing him would have to be great.

it'll be a very good class. don't worry about anything m-rob says. we have a very good shot at gardner, ohio state has offered a 2011 kid (braxton miller) already and haven't offered him yet. plus tom's own interview stated that he's been talking to jeremy and ricardo...anyways it's gonna be really good. don't worry.
