Michael O'Neill wins second Big Ten Baseball player of the week in a row.
- Sophomore outfielder Michael O'Neill (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy Liberty) of the University of Michigan baseball team was named the Big Ten Conference's Player of the Week today (Monday, March 5). It marks his second straight conference honor. I am struggling with turning this into a link so sorry about that, but I will try to figure this out.
the feeling that I am the only person on here who loves baseball, and U of M baseball at that. Does anyone want me to stop posting stuff about baseball, no hurt feelings just don't wanna take up board space if no one cares. Last week same thing no one really commented so I am getting the idea baseball isn't hot on here?
I actually hate baseball and I never click on baseball related threads, but I never even heard of Michael O'Neill so I clicked through.
I think it is nice that he is getting recognized on here because there are some baseball fans here. Formerly Anonymous used to post lots of stuff on Michigan baseball, but he has been MIA for some time.
a true freshman and has won the only 2 weeks the award has been given out. So he is on a huge tear from the plate the first two weeks. Just a shame the rest of the team is struggling and blowing leads in the late innings. The team is 6-6, but should be at least 11-3 with all the blown saves this season.
He's a sophomore.
he was a student of mine in high school and just an awesome kid. He ran into a bit of injury his senior year but still produced very well. One of his teammates was last year's B1G freshmen of the year at Ohio, Josh Desze. That Liberty baseball team had four starters go D-1. I love hearing of the accolades Mike is obtaining and I spread them around the school as everyone hear pays religious attention to Ohio for obvious reasons but obviously not what's going on at Michigan.
only two posts are on Michael O'Neill I just noticed that. Well at least it wasn't all for nothing lol.
I've been reading the blog for a while due to it being a great source for my Michigan fix. I just hadn't felt the need to post a whole lot until I saw your post about Mike. I went to the B1G website and pasted the link into a school wide email. But of course, instead of thanking me about the news they just stated the only reason I sent it is because of the fact it was Michigan related. Typical Ohio fans thinking the world doesn't exist outside of Ohio....
gonna hate...
Mike isn't a true freshman. He's a sophomore who played rather well last year too.
thaks for clearing that up. I for some reason thought he was a true freshman, but either way he is a stud.
