During the season, it was Devante. From last year to this, Hunter developed a legit 3 point shot and a right handed post game. While his defense took a step back, he made significant offensive strides that were unfortunately mitigated by the lack of shooting around him. Last year he was an important piece that sort of vanished later in the season as teams figured him out, and we became more reliant on outside shooting (which sadly vanished against UCLA). This year, there were times where we had to force it in to Hunter because no one else could score, and he was forced to score over double teams. I think he deserves the recognition for all the effort he put in for the entire offseason to fix the holes in his game.

He went from 26 minutes per game to 32.3 MPG. I think that had a lot to do with his defensive step back. He was just playing too many minutes to go 100% on defense every possession. I think one of the reasons Coach Howard went to the full court press at times last season was to delay the opponent getting the ball into the front court thereby giving Hunter an extra 3-5 seconds to catch his breath.

Brooks really came into his own during his tenure at Michigan. His first couple seasons here there were fans calling Beilein an idiot for recruiting him and declaring he wasn't Big Ten material.

Congratulations Eli on proving the naysayers wrong and on your stellar Michigan career!
