McGuffie to Rice
For those interested, Free Press is saying there's a rivals.com story about McGuffie being a near Rice lock. I couldn't find any article at rivals though. Nor did I look that hard.

Good luck Sam! Sorry it could not work out. We appreciate what you did for us and I will never forget that TD run after the catch down in South Bend. You made that look really cool. Kind of like a jack rabbit bouncing away from the spray of the shotgun pellets.
Go get 'em down there in Texas!

I wish him the best of luck and I hope he has a great college and pro career. Stinks that he couldn't be our guy, but hopefully he can bring happiness to some other fans. Good luck Sam.

Right in the center of town. And he doesn't have to sacrifice any academic rigors by going there either.

Despite all the conspiracy mongering by the local media it seems Sam and the Michigan coaching staff were being totally up front...whatever is going on with his family he wants to be right there at home. Otherwise, why not A&M or any of a million other major-conference schools?
Best of luck to him, I hope everything works out.

Good luck to him. Too bad it didn't work out for him up here. Hope he doesn't have any more concussions, those are very serious.

Kinda wish he went somewhere that played on TV more often. Hopefully he makes a bunch of ESPN-worthy highlights so we'll get to watch him.

I think at this point TV exposure is the least of his concerns. I hope things all work out for the best for him.

Certainly. I said that because II want to see him! haha

Wish things would have worked out here but it sounds like there were more important things that needed to be taken care of.

Good for him, he can go close to home and still get a great degree. And I'm sure he'll get plenty of PT there too. Sounds like a good fit.

Rice is a great school with a beautiful campus. Also, their football program is looking up. I think he made a good choice. Good luck Sam.

I thought that maybe RB was too much of a pounding for him. When I see Jeremy Gallon taking some short passes out of the slot this year and taking off I'll think about what could have been for Sam.

to him in the future. Too bad it couldn't work out.

It would be great if all them people that bought McGuffie jerseys this past year wore them to home games next season as a show of gratitude for the little fella. I must have seen a thousand at the games i attended. Go Blue

Good for him - it's a great school and he'll be close to his family. Hopefully his health will hold up and allow him to keep playing football.

Sam, I hope you can read the comments herein. Thank you for all the hard work and sacrifice. You are a good man...a Michigan man regardless of the uniform. I am sure your family is proud of you.
