MBB: Projected Creighton Starting Center suffers potentially season ending leg injury
Jacob Epperson, Creighton's projected starting Center, has suffered a serious leg injury in practice that will most likely make him miss the season. According to Creighton fans on Reddit, the injury is supposed to be Kevin Ware-esque so hopefully it's not that bad and he has a quick recovery.
Epperson has only played in 21 games in 2 years, only averaging 4.8 PPG in 9.1 MPG in 9 games last year, mostly due to injury. However this is a big loss for Creighton as their front court now consists of 6'11 Kelvin Jones, a senior transfer from Idaho State who averaged 9.9 PPG and 5.6 RPG last year for ISU, and 6'7 SO Christian Bishop who averaged 4.1 PPG and 2.1 RPG.
Michigan's second game of the year is at home against Creighton on November 12th and Franz is guaranteed to miss that game even if he only misses 4 weeks. Creighton is a projected top 40 team to KenPom and Torvik with a really strong backcourt/wing rotation so this frontcourt depth issue could be an equalizing factor.

Sorry about this B-ball injury but right now I’m more worried about Notre Dame & MSU football.

Wow, that sucks for them and of course Epperson himself. That's a frontcourt that even Beilein's first year would have an advantage over.

Terrible to see. I’m generally not a fan of “hur derr just pay the player,” but these schools should absolutely be covering loss of potentially earning insurance for all these players.
Nobody players would be dirt cheap to insure, since they will never play pro, and the likely pro kids would be properly compensated for career altering injuries.

If there's Kevin Ware level claims...there likely isn't going to be a quick recovery and it's probably pretty bad.
