MBB to open 2020-21 season vs Georgia State
Tuesday, November 10 at Crisler Center
Michigan vs Georgia State. Second straight season opener against a Sun Belt team.
Per Jon Rothstein on Twitter.
Fun fact about GA State...their football stadium is a renovated/repurposed Turner Field, former home of the Atlanta Braves.
First 2 games of the season are now confirmed.
11/10 vs Georgia State
11/14 at Oregon
Oregon should be a good game even though they lose Payton Pritchard. They return former 5 Stars N’Faly Dante and C.J. Walker. Bring in Rutgers transfer Eugene Omoruyi and UNLV transfer Amari Hardy. Return star players like Will Richardson and Chris Duarte. And finally bring in 4 star Michigan native and former MSU commit Jalen Terry.
GSU went 19-13 last season (with a new coach) and will probably be better this upcoming season. They return there top 3 scorers in Kane Williams, Justin Roberts, and Corey Allen. All 3 are guards and will more than likely give us some trouble in the game. There only real loss is senior guard Damon Wilson. Overall, this should be a good game.
They were top 125 in KenPom last year and just outside the projected top 100 on Torvik for next year. Definitely a good scheduled buy-game.
Allen is from Ypsilanti. Really talented kid.
We need Livers to come back if we want to compete. Losing DDJ and CC really hurt our experience factor.
Not gonna lose much sleep over two role players, one who barely got in.
But when you look at the roster for next year, ouch, no experienced depth.
I hope I am wrong. But mostly, we need Livers.
Ah the time in the Men's Basketball Schedule before Michigan fans remember basketball season is starting right at the tail end of the football season
Typically at the tail end of the football season I am ready for the start of basketball season.
Which was the OLYMPIC Stadium prior to becoming the Braves Home...Probably the best stadium in the Sun Belt
