Marvin Robinson Video
Here's a link to some video of Marvin Robinson for anyone who hasn't seen his tape.

My impressions: the athleticism in this kid is readily apparent. He plays instinctively and knows where to be at all times. I do see why there are concerns about his speed though.
Speed is overrated in a free safety, in my opinion. If he has good instincts (which he does), then that more than makes up for a minor lack of speed.
(I don't really see a lack of serious speed, but if he does lack it, I'm not worried about it.)
I'm not seeing a lack of speed at all. He may not be a blazer like some of M's other recruits, but I see him out run a safety (#20) to the outside late in the video and the safety does catch back up after MRob has to juke a couple other players. I also saw a real good break up toward the corner in which he appears to have good burst. Remember he may grow into a LB, but I would prefer he stay at safety and hopefully become a Mays (USC) type player. Plus Barwis will get a hold of him and improve his speed.
The kid is only 190 lbs. He may bulk up, but he's got a long way to go before he becomes Taylor Mays...
Hmmm... scout has him listed at 204 lbs. and recruiting planet has him listed at 176 lbs, obviously from when he was a sophomore. He sure looks a hell of a lot bigger than 190, especially at 6'1".
I have to agree that he looks a lot bigger than 190. In that picture that TomVH posted on him OMG Shirtless he was way thick, and if 6-1 is his legit height, he's over 200lbs. I don't think he'll be quite as big as Taylor Mays, but with all the OLB's we've been recruiting or converting, I could see him staying at safety and being a TM type of player.
and field awareness looks good also. I think he could be a stud. Also, doesn't he want to enroll early?
he wants to enroll early, as do ricardo and devin
Stephen Hopkins also plans on enrolling early.
