Peedi also All Big-Ten: second in media, third in coaches. Tough to argue with the Coach of the Year winners: Izzo is Izzo (coaches) and DeChellis did a great job with Penn State (media). I actually think if anyone got robbed it's Bill Carmody ... I mean, Northwestern is a bubble team.
Since neither NW nor PSU was able to lock up a bid down the season stretch, Izzo has to be the pick. Another key win by either team probably would've brought home the other CotY award. Beilein couldn't have been too far behind.
Woo, churned out another good but slightly uneven team. Carmody and DeChellis have been just short of miracle workers.
I guess it's the "just short" that defaults you back to lame but safe choice.
There was an embarassment of riches in terms of Big 10 coaches this year. There were about 5 coaches that you really couldn't argue with being COTY. I probably would've gone with Carmody too though, last year's edition of the Wildcats made Michigan look like the '96 Bulls.
I'm kinda bummed at least one of our great white hype's made the all freshman squad. They are both pretty much square when it comes to make the 3, Novak rebounds better but Stu plays better D.
Of course maybe all of that is just my maize 'n' blue goggles...
Agreed, I was a little bummbed Novak didn't make it, but this year's BT freshmen class was stacked. It'll be even better next year.
