Back when he was at MSU I thought it was SI that had a quote from an opposing lineman saying that Mandarich's arms were full of zits and he was already losing his hair because of steroids...  Didn't realize this new headline was news...

I'm not sure why this is a big deal all of the sudden.  Pretty common knowledge.

I remember watching the '88 Rose Bowl on ESPN Classic years ago.  MSU had a stacked team that year.  Percy Snow, Andre Rison, Lorenzo White, and Mandarich.  Probably the best team they've had since the '60s (the '99 team was pretty good too).  It would have been nice if Michigan could have beaten them in Bo's last game, giving USC an absolute Michigan trifecta-style beatdown, but oh well.
