M Lacrosse vs Canisius 4 PM (on BTN+)

Men's lacrosse is at home taking on Canisius at the State Street facility right now. This is the least interesting game on the schedule - Canisius is pretty bad and they're already down 10-2 in the first half - but it gives Michigan a chance to bounce back after a tough loss at Hofstra on Saturday.

This is the first of three winnable games on the schedule before it starts to get tough. It gives Michigan a chance to correct some stuff they had trouble with last week, particularly clearing and man-up offense. It should also be a good opportunity to get some young and developing guys some playing time. Michigan hosts Merrimack this Saturday and St. John's Feb. 29th.

Michigan did get some good news last week though because the B1G had a pretty rough outing and the conference may not be as powerful as we thought. Hopkins fell to cross-town rival Loyola, Ohio State lost to UMass, Rutgers got absolutely TROUNCED by Army and Maryland survived a scare from Penn (although Penn is pretty good now). Only Penn State won comfortably. Marquette, who Michigan plays in early March also lost.  While we shouldn't read too much into early season results, the schedule looks less daunting now.  Still gotta take care of business on the field though.

GO BLUE!!

Spoiler alert: Michigan wins 16-8. Bryce Clay tied the program's single game high score record, tallying 6 goals.

In other Michigan-relevant scores and early season losses, Maryland lost in a fairly big upset to Villanova and Delaware went down to St. Joe's today. Again, hopefully that means those games are more winnable now (Maryland will probably recover though).

And I think that's it for this incredible thread of me talking to myself.

Good to see them take charge and some new faces stepping up.  Seems like we really had trouble with Tierney on Saturday, so hopefully they can tighten up on D before they get to big ten play.

Great performance by Clay.  President Ford’s grandson, Christian, with his first 2 collegiate goals for the Maize & Blue today??.

Gotta love it when the D Middie gets a couple goals!!! We’ve got highlights:
