M Basketball gets WMU rematch at home; hosts EMU
Looks like the non-conference for this season is a revenge tour. Michigan already had central scheduled for this season whom they got beat by in Beilein's first year.
Michigan will host western on 12/4 at home. The last time they met was 11/30/2002 which ended in a 52-56 loss for Michigan.
The battle for Washtenaw County is back as well. Michigan will host eastern for the first time since 2009 on 12/20. So Michigan will host all 3 MAC schools in the state of Michigan this season and also a home game with oakland is rumored to open the season in the Ann Arbor Regional of the Preseason NIT.

Well, it looks better to play MAC teams than the usual SE Western Washington States that they schedule.

Although these games will provide excuses for the announcers to remind us how we did in last season's tournament.

I thought I heard after the Oakland game last year that we were going to take a break in that series for a while.

Preseason NIT are the ones organizing the games.

I highly doubt anyone connected with the Michigan basketball team is looking at the WMU game as a "rematch" or will be seeking "revenge" for a game played a decade ago.

Maybe not that game, but possibly the one against cmu which happened in Beilein's first year.

When Chris Kaman pretty much ripped the rim off with dunks for 40 minutes and the hundreds of us in attendance had to listen to one jackass shouting "Fire Up Chips" until the buzzer sounded.

Ouch. Hard times.
I think the reason Michigan hasn't played them in awhile is because when they were down they wanted to avoid having those things happen even more. And hearing about it from the d-bags northwest of us.
Thank God that's over with.

That was the year we started 0-6, Avery Queen got booted off the team for his drunken antics in Puerto Rico, then Amaker put the talented freshman class he had assembled into action and we went 10-6 in conference play (tied for 3rd) and beat MSU on Super Bowl Sunday (with actual people in attendance). If only he'd done a little more in recruiting after that the turnaround/resurgence would have happened a lot faster.

I hate it when I've lost the last game I've played against a particular opponent.

Am I the only one excited about the Slippery Rock game?
