B1G schedule is ridiculously easy.
No Nebraska, OSU or Indiana who is the only ranked B1G team. Have 2 of 3 games against MSU at home in early March and Maryland series is at home.
A loss to a West coast team isn't anything to be ashamed of. Especially in the second week of the season. Michigan is 8-13 all-time against teams from the WCC, including 4-6 against San Diego.
The record against the Pac-12 is very horrifying. 37-94-1.

Current freshmen were a top-10 ranked class.

It's probably not an NCAA tournament team this year--you pretty much have to call it a rebuilding year--but the team might be good enough by the end of the season to win the conference tournament.
4th/5th in the Big Ten would be a reasonable projection.

They should have pretty good pitching. We have to replace a lot of bats from last year.

Almost certainly first. San Diego was top-30 last season.
This is going to be a tough spring break trip to California. Great experience for the team, but coming home with anything better than a 2-6 record for the trip will be a pleasant surprise.
