for potential/current commits to read quotes from former players and colleagues on the internet.  I'm not a commit, but I'm feeling much more positive the more I read about Hoke.  His W/L record doesn't tell the story.  Whitlock's article from a national site, the oft-quoted comment from Steve Hutchingson that Hoke was his favorite coach-- and he was an O-lineman; Hoke was the D-line coach.  Quotes from his former players, including saying he didn't play favorites between "his" recruits and "my" recruits.  That he was tough, but cared about his players.  Some of the recruits we most need are on the D, and D-line, and if they find out that Hoke coached the Michigan D-line in a defensive heyday.. [Is that really a word?]  Ah!  Looked it up (with that spelling):

the stage or period of greatest vigor, strength, success, etc.

If that's stressed in posts/media available to recruits, why shouldn't even Jernigan and Drew take another look?

Wearing my Pollyanna hat today.  Feels a lot better than that dark, light-blocking visor that's starting to get frayed with overuse.
