... because for some reason, I actually liked it. I guess I'm a sucker for good production quality and a nice beat.

Btw, that was a Friday Night Lights sample, right?

At what point did you feel he was trying to be hard? He talks about crying in his lyrics (not that crying in general is soft--people who think they're hard often get tears inked on their faces to "cry" incessantly). If he was trying to be hard, he'd be talking about crying over his dead homies as opposed to crying over football, which comes off less like trying to be hard and more like showing his level of commitment to his dreams and his team.

Video was semi-decent but that actual song was not very good. I struggled to listen past the first 30 seconds, and after about 2 minutes I had to shut it off. Good for him for doing what he loves though.

Nice production (I didn't like the beat, but it sounded properly engineered) and decent lyrics (I wasn't blown away, but I didn't roll my eyes). The guy's got no edge, but I suppose he doesn't pretend to have one. I stopped listening halfway through and just watched the video, which I thought had nice quality. Kennedy's got something (a rapper can be much worse than he is--I've heard them, and the ones I'm talking about are signed), but I'm not sure if it'll go very far past the thirty-five thumbs up on YouTube, mostly because it's a forgettable song.

I liked the beat and the lyrics. I thought the production quality was good, but he's just not a very good singer so the chorus seemed to hurt the song a lot. He needs to pair with a singer or not do the singing chorus without some vocal training. Which is why his stuff with Rey was better bc he could sing and they complemented each other.
