Iowa DC Has Foot Amputated
Not a lot of info, but it sounds like it's from diabetes complications. I wish him and his family the best and a quick recovery.

He was a long time coach at Michigan State as well.

Hope he has a full and speedy recovery. Looks like AIHG doesn't discriminate between players and coaches this year.

I Wish him well.

We are currently dealing with the same situation with my father. Hopefully there are no complications and the amputation will allow Norm to live a somewhat normal life going forward. Thoughts and prayers are with him and his family.

What a strange season regarding the health of Big 10 coaches. Thoughts go out to Norm Parker, I've always respected his defenses.

Best Wishes to Mr. Parker. That has got to be hard.
This has got to be a message to coach Robinson though--lose this game, and the hair is coming off!

Setting aside the incredibly poor taste, that "joke" doesn't even make any sense.

I think someone started tailgating really early this week.

a) Not the time.
b) it would take more than one loss to threaten GERG's hair.
c) Still not the time.

That pretty well sucks. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, Mr. Parker.

Norm Parker is a hero in this state. As much as I have a large amount of hate for Iowa football, this kind of thing is terrible. I wish him the best in his recovery.

Thanks for the post. Man, I've gotta lose some weight before adult onset diabetes kicks in.

Norm coached my uncles football team at St. John's Catholic HS in Ypsilanti. Coach Parker was a mentor and a very positive influence in his life. My uncle went on to become the head coach at Willow Run HS and eventually the AD after heart problems ended his coaching career. My best to Norm and his family. May he have a speedy recovery.

The Cubs legend (should be Hall of Famer, but neither here nor there) has lost both of his legs to diabetes. He's still the man, so I'm sure Coach Parker will continue living a fulfilling life as well. Best of luck to him.
Shameless plug: Diabetes is a serious disease and unfortunately it will continue affecting more people, and at a younger age. Santo's charity of choice is Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, I'd encourage people to check it out. Especially if you know someone who is a diabetic.

I hope that Coach Parker is able to benefit from the care and makes a speedy recovery.
