Info for those attending Michigan Hockey this weekend

Submitted by rgfmich on
Unfortunately, but fortunately for this weekend, I work in Bridgeport and about 500 ft from the Arena. They are advertising this weekend pretty heavily and have designated a "home" restaurant for each team. If anyone is going to the games Friday and Saturday, our restaurant is "Roberto's" which is on Main St, and a 5 minute walk to the Arena. I went in for a second today and they're decked out with Michigan flags. Just thought I'd pass along this information since most people won't know anything about Bridgeport and it could be fun to have a "Michigan Bar" So I hope to see you all there at some point this weekend...go blue

Did we get a good draw with Roberto's? Are there other bars/restos in the area that are worth checking out? I am thinking of taking the train in early in the afternoon and wanted to watch the Rangers/Penguins game.

The better restaurant is Ralph and Rich's but thats been designated as Yale's bar - no surprise considering they are hosting. Roberto's is decent, but I'm sure they'll dress it up a bit for this because Bridgeport doesn't see a lot of exciting things, so might as well make an impression. It's by no means a sports bar, but there aren't any that I know of in Bridgeport. The best one I can think of is Archie Moore's which is right of the train in Fairfield, but you'd have to get back on to go to Bridgeport. Roberto's does have a few TVs at the bar and I'm sure they'd be willing to put on the Rangers/Pens game. Apparently they're playing the "Miracle on Ice" game on a big screen.

lots of people don't behave themselves...so do what you gotta do. Roberto's is a converted bank so it looks pretty cool and it has Michigan flags so thats something. You should have no problem finding it considering its in the only area of stuff to do
