I'm NOT "fucking pissed"

Submitted by doxa on

Yes, this sucks.
Get over it.

We have a freshmen laden offence with a QB who has no business running the system…we have a bad D-fence with a new coach who’s getting out-coached game after game.

No, next year will not be like the “Alabama” of this year.

Get over it.

Lloyd left us with rice and beans and some of you pricks freak out when RR doesn’t bring steak each weak.  We don’t have steak…we wont have it for two more years.  Enjoy the depression that is Michigan football and start saving your energy for the future.

Michigan will rise again but first RR must clear away the ruins and rebuild the temple…give him some time and maybe even help by cheering at the games!

We suck...Get over it.

Stop crying.  Get up.  Go back to work.

Go Blue.

Look…I hate losing.  But have some freaking perspective!

If Lloyd and the boys were still around:

    a. We beat Utah and Toledo by a combined six points.

    b. We beat Miami by 3 instead of 10.

    c. We go to an average bowl game and collectively bitch about how         damn conservative we are!

I’ll take two years of puke your guts out games if it means we can compete for and in a BCS game.

PERSPECTIVE is your FRIEND.

Okay, I'm not gonna lie and say we'd be great if Lloyd were still the head coach.  And I think Rodriguez will run a good program here in the next year or two.  But we would NOT be 2-6 if Carr were still here.  Not even close.  There are a couple players who would probably still be around (Mallett, Boren, maybe Arrington), and we wouldn't be fitting a bunch of square pegs on round holes.  I'm guessing we would be 5-3 or 6-2 right now if Carr had stayed.  I realize that's not "great" but there's a big difference between 5-3 (being on the cusp of a bowl) and 2-6 (with virtually no hope of finishing .500).

mallett was definitely on the way out but maybe arrington and probably boren wouldve stayed. still i think we would've been 4-4 maybe 5-3. arrington wouldn't have made a big impact, threet would still be semi-incompetant and the secondary would still be mostly incompetant

The defense would be virtually the same under either coach, and that aint good.  The line might be a little better if we didn't have all of the losses due to transfers/injuries/etc., but how much?  And if the only difference in the OL under Lloyd versus RR is Boren, then I don't think you have any arguement that the OL would be noticably better.

Under RR versus Carr, maybe the difference would be from terrible to mediocre (at the very best).  I really don't see this team being any better than 3-5 playing Lloyd ball this year.

I do think that this team's conditioning is better now under RR than it would be under Lloyd and that also should be considered.

Lloyd is no dummy.  He was convinced by Mary Sue Coleman to stay for last year.  He was not, under any circumstances, going to coach the team this year.  Did the composition of the team have anything to do with his decision?

Arrington was almost certainly gone all along.  There were rumors to that effect all season.  Insiders would say things like "Mario is 99% gone and Adrian is 85%" or whatever, even before Lloyd retired.

The one guy who presumably would still be here is Boren.  He would've helped, although the line still would have been problematic.  The one other positive Lloyd might have brought is that he probably would have committed to Threet over Sheridan right off the bat, allowing Threet more practice reps with the first team in the preseason.  Threet consequently might have looked sharper to start the year, and maybe we'd have beaten Utah.  But beyond that, I doubt the season would have turned out much differently.

Having said that, I am upset about our defense.  45 points to Illinois?  46 to PSU?  35 to MSU?   I acknowledge that the D was bad at times last year as well, so I'm not saying Lloyd would have fixed it.  But it's just mind-boggling how bad our tackling is, and how poor we are at getting off the field when it's 3rd and long.  I believe in RichRod, but my faith in Shafer is weak right now.

I don't know, but going into the year I certainly didn't expect us to be giving up almost 29 points per game (and that stat gets considerably uglier if the two MAC opponents are not included).  We currently have one of the worst defenses in the Big Ten, statistically speaking.  I don't think anyone saw that coming, and it's not something that's easily explained.  Are teams like Minnesota, Iowa and Purdue really more talented on defense than we are?

I get the feeling sometimes that our players aren't taking things as seriously as they should.  These kids have been given an incredible opportunity to go to a school most of them could have never gotten into, and do it for free.  They shouldn't be playing beer pong on Thursdays during the season, they shouldn't be out partying on Saturday nights, they shouldn't be doing the things I or my friends see them doing.  Are we as talented as we normally are or normally will be?  No.  Should we lose to Toledo or give up 30-whatever straight points to PSU?  Also no.

You sir, are an asshole, and really boring college kid.

I know Michigan football means a lot to you, but honestly, don't you think it means more to the kids who are out on the field making the plays?  So what if they go out and party on Saturday night? I did; most kids probably did. If anyone deserves to cut loose on a Saturday nights, it's the players.

Holy Fuck, Fuck you.

You think this sucks for you? You sat in the stands, or on your fucking couch, pounded some beers, and watched the fucking game. They put on YOUR school's fucking colors, stepped on the field, played as hard as they could, and lost. They spend all fucking week in the weight room, on the practice field, busting their ass to do as well as possible.

And you come on this site, buzzed on your gameday beer, and you rip those kids based on heresay? On something "your friends" saw. Get bent.

The loyalty we, as fans, should have for the student atheletes on the field borders on "unconditional". You think you're disappointed? How disappointed do you think the people that actually contribute to the program feel?

I have been able to have the pleasure of knowing an offensive lineman on a big ten team.  He gets drunk with his friends on Saturday night.  He is also up at 5 a.m. every day to go to practice.  He is also struggling to make grades because he spends 60 hours a week doing something he doesn't get paid for.  He is also shortening his lifespan considerably with each subsequent hit.  He is actually rehabbing a severe ankle injury right now and even getting to class for him has been hell, as the football program can't provide him with transportation without it being considered as an "unfair benefit to student athletes."

If you honestly think these guys aren't trying, why don't you try meeting a few of them?  See how much time they invest in this.  See how much of their body they give up.  See how infrequently they get to see their families all the way from fall practices to bowl season.  See how much pain they are all playing through.

hey when u get plastic surgery, it takes a while until u start seeing the results. if we were with lloyd we may have been able to hide our faults like an ugly girl can by stuffing her bra and wearing make up, but instead we chose to get a complete makeover like that ugly girl did by getting plastic surgery. weeks after a plastic surgery there is a considerable amount of pain and swelling, and you look like shit, worse than you did before the surgery. in the end though, u look good and thats all that matters. the same goes for this season, we chose to get plastic surgery by getting rich rod and decided to give this program a face lift. it may be painful and ugly to watch this year and maybe next, but in the end we will be as pretty as that girl who just got a breast implant along with a face lift and a rhinoplasty

I saw Dantonio smile for the first time in my life. I didn't know he was capable. And I didn't like it. Here's to Dantonio looking miserable, once RR turns this program around.

Really?  The NCAA just sucks sometimes.
