How many scholarships will we carry forward?
Just curious if anyone "in the know" has a realistic idea of how many we'll carry open into next year? Other than the guys we're still hoping for at the moment, I realize that we will try to fill a few more DB/S types, but how does that weigh in compared to the blazingly hot start to the '10 class? Would we be more likely to "fill space" this year, or go for an abundance of quality next year? Thanks.

We can only sign 25 players without being Saban.

But we can sign more with some opting for early enrollement, correct?

The Saban thing, chitown, wasn't that 32 > 25, it was that 60 + 32 > 85.

soem are backdated. meaning kids enroll early then i think it can b 27

the other day, Brian or Tom I'm sure... but, it was also pointed out that we'd probably not quite get there; I was wondering if there was any "sentiment" on how hard we'd try i.e. is there talk about saving them for next year (or put another way yet, which class do we feel is deeper with what we need '09 or '10?)

From what I've heard, 2010 is a very deep class talent wise, especially in Michigan. This is just what I've heard however, I don't have any evidence to back it up.

jeremy jackson said that this class is going to be a killer. there is so much talent were going after in florida.

i think it's 25 per year and if they enroll early they can go on either year. we took 25 last year (i think) but we didn't get all of them, so however many never actually enrolled can be replaced by early enrollies this year

Some teams take close to 30. It depends on transfers, or whatever. Kids like Chambers/McGuffie will give us extra scholarships if they bounce.
