Hoosiers (the band)
You're aware of our upcoming opponent, but you should also know there is a band in the UK called The Hoosiers.

Here is how they describe their name: "Indiana is the Hoosier state. People from there are Hoosiers. It's also a bit of an American term for redneck. We kind of liked that."
They said it, not me.

there's a place in Oregon called Wanker's Corner. Natives, who've grown up with the name, fail to see any humor in it; but it always cracks me up.

The Hoosiers are so named because they somehow ended up playing football at the University of Indianapolis. I made sure I asked about this when people talked about them in England, because it's fucking weird that there's a British band called the Hoosiers.
They performed at the nightclub at one of the universities near me for the Freshers Fair (British orientation week only with massive parties with celebrities), I went and they're pretty awesome.

I'm assuming football means English football (soccer)?

I'm not entirely clear on that, actually.

They definitely have the term confused with Buckeye.
