Going to be a pretty fun & competitive non-conference schedule.  Buffalo was 77 on KenPom to finish last year, so they are no means a pushover and look great from a resume perspective.  Equivalent of playing a Marquette/Provident/NC State in the rankings from last year.

pretty tough pre big ten schedule, got to be one of harder ones on paper we've had going into a season especially if we add oregon or ucf, no?

I consider myself pretty knowledgeable about the colleges and universities of this great land. I have never heard of Tarleton St.

Tarleton is a recent addition to D-1 ....... they moved-up from D2 and they play in the wild wild WAC.  They were actually D-1 last season (2020-21) but much of that got lost because of the pandemic, I don't think they played any non-conference hoops games.

They're located in Stephensville, ~ 100 miles west/southwest of Fort Worth.  The heart of Texas Cowboy country.

Tarleton is definitely not a state, however.  I don't know what a "Tarleton" is.  Everything I wrote above I knew without looking up, so I won't cheat here by looking up "Tarleton."  My guess is some old Central Texas cowboy with a last name of Tarleton helped found or fund the school in some regard.  Which would make him the equivalent of Mr. Rutgers, who got a school named after him too.

Tarleton does sound a lot like Tartar, which reminds me of Wayne State, which isn't a state either!
