Hockey: #15 Michigan at #17 Tech open thread

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Well happy hockeyween everyone!

Michigan travels to Houghton for the first time since the 1983-84 season to take on a RANKED Tech team. For the first time since the inception of the USCHO hockey rankings, Michigan will play a ranked MTU team.

Unless you feel like shelling out the $$$ for the WCHA.TV stream, MGoBlueTV audio is the best we've got tonight. Fear not, this is the last series of the year that is not televised or on BTN Plus.

Will we get Lowell Michigan or the Michigan that struggles to score 3 goals. We will see. McGinnis is going to be rocking so its going to be important to get that first goal because the crowd will be in it big time

I'd love to that thing Brian talked about a few years ago: some sort of 'Michigan cup' every year. Play some intro games (2-4), then have your top 4 play a weekend tournament and your bottom four can get some non-con games vs each other or something.

Seven Michigan teams in D1, let Adrian play in it too (why not?) as they're the only DIII team in the state somehow. It would be so awesome

Funny thing is Michigan is a way larger underperformer under Berenson than Michigan Football ever was given the talent and longevitiy of programs.

If the team underperforms again this year, you've got to think Berenson retires right? He's obviously earned the route to which he wants to finish his career. I'm just wondering, and no I dont believe this season will be a let down after last season..
