6'0, 175lb WR out of Honolulu, HI that runs a laser verified 4.37 40 time.
Currently ranked #318 in composite, and #218 in 247. Both give him a 4 star rating.
He fast
Fast enough for Jimmy John's???
Jimmy Johns is ass.
The owner def is, that guys sucks
Jimmy John's really is NOT good food. Subway and a bunch of other sub sandwich restaurants are far better.
Subway...? Subway. Did he/she say Subway? Subway.
Not sure if serious.
Penn State fans agree Subway is far better.
Jimmy John is not the greatest sandwich in the world, but Subway? DAMN. JJ 10 times out of 10 over the Way of the Sub.
Fast players are useful!
Hello indeed! Major addition to #speedinspace. He's likely the fastest guy on the team the second that he shows up.
Dax Hill and Ambry Thomas might have something to say about that title. But all in all, the Michigan teams of the future look to be much faster in all aspects of the game.
Let's race 'em
Good call on Dax, who at 4.3 laser timed is otherworldly. Ambry is 4.43 laser timed, so very fast but not as fast as Roman.
I should have said "fastest on the offense", which I think is correct.
That’s probably true. Giles Jackson and Blake Corum are probably the next 2 fastest after him
DPJ is fast as well. We're getting to the position where we can have speed at every offensive skill position on the field, all at the same time. As we saw against OSU last year, that kills a defense.
Even if Giles Jackson or Roman Wilson are raw early in their career, they're going to scorch most team's slowest CB, S, or LB if they get matched up that way.
Don't sleep on DMC.
6 inches taller than is brother who ran in the 4.4s.
We got a tiny glimpse of his wheels last season.
Now, I wouldn’t say “fasted” necessarily.
Kudos. You should proof read my papers if you're looking to correct typos - there are plenty.
*Hawaiian War Chant plays*
I believe a Hawaiian War Chant being played by us could constitute an NCAA violation, as we are providing an impermissible benefit to Roman Wilson. I should make a thread to make sure brb.
Nice one
Nice pickup and glad to have another WR in the fold.
Awesome! Welcome aboard! I love that he highlights his new teammates at the end of his commitment video. Classy move.
Hail yes!

Pep Hamilton loved that play on 3rd and 4
Looks like my ncaa 14 playbook. I better get credit from gattis
You threw to the skinny post every single time, didn't you?
Having ourselves a little Roman Holiday.
Exciting! Welcome!
Looks like some of these summer camps are starting to pay off now. In his commitment video, harabugh is raising his hand like he won something, I think it was a race and said look out for this kid in the future he’s just going to be a freshman. I believe that was one of our camps in Hawaii since harbz was wearing a mariota jersey
Commit Alert.......Unless he was late for Wilson...Marty D just tweeted out Ralphie again.....
—- Dudek updated the tweet that sometimes Ralphie comes AFTER.
Dudek says Ralphie was late this time.
Roman is faster than a Dudek wave!
Holy shit this kid is quick. 4.37 40
SPEED IN SPACE
Not only does he have elite speed, the kid also runs good routes as a high schooler. Not only does he have straight line speed, he seems to also have fluid movement in his routes
Sub 4 shuttle also confirms he's not just a track guy.
Anyone know of a reason he isn't top 100?
In addition to the 4.37 40, he ran a 3.96 shuttle which would have topped all players at the combine, and a 39.1" vertical which would have been 6th among WRs. All numbers from The Opening events, which I think is basically the same testing technology as the combine.
Lack of competition? Raw as a route runner or catching the ball?
Seems like he's gotta be one of the top 10 or so athletes in the entire class.
I’d imagine geography and competition has a lot to do with it.
Underscouted is probably the biggest reason. He made a 800 point jump in his ranking back in February and I think his ranking will continue to rise.
I think competition and geography play a big part. Was also part of why Ronnie Bell got ranked as low as he did. Not the only reason, but a big reason.
Missouri is not really known for producing much great to elite HS football talent. Sure there are pockets here and there, and St. Louis Metro probably produces a handful of top-250 guys every year. But you're far away from any real recruiting hotbeds. Surrounded by Arkansas, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Illinois. Outside of Chicago, none of those places really consistently produce elite talent either. Not even Tennessee, really. So the assumption is that you're not really playing against anyone of note when you're from these places.
St. Louis is the name of his high school in Hawaii.
Oops.
Location is part. Competition isn't great.
He is fast, no denying that. Actually not bad at defeating press coverage. But his route running is very raw, and he doesn't show a lot as far as changing speeds or much wiggle (which I know is counter to his shuttle); he's more of a straight line runner at this point on the field.
He's going to have to bulk up a bit, he isn't a big WR by any means (though I think 6' is adequate), but even with his speed, he's going to need to find ways to get separation on his breaks. Can't really tell much about his hands from his short tape.
There's a very short video of him on 247, about a minute, at the Opening Regional (I believe). Check it out. He looks very sharp in his routes, and does a double move that jerks a guy out of his shoes. No idea who the defenders are, but at an Opening regional I assume they're decent.
Limited data, but what's there looks really good.
