Heatley nixes Cogliano trade
Heatley was traded to Edmonton for Andrew Cogliano (UM-AA), Dustin Penner, and Ladislav Smid. He apparently will not waive his no-trade clause, thus killing the deal.

Wow, thats a nice trade. I would have loved to have him on the Wings. He would bring in youth, speed, and a decent amount of points.
Oh well, possibly later in his career.
Heatley really hosed Ottawa. There is some good talent here, but that Penner contract is atrocious. I suspect this was about the only reasonable offer that the Senators saw.

This deal makes a lot of sense for both sides. Too bad that a-hole vetoed it.
It was in his contract. He's not an asshole for exercising his rights. He may be a terrible guy, I have no idea, but this would not be a reason why.
