Moody winning is kind of a crime against Tory Taylor of Iowa, tbh.  That dude should win the Heisman because once Georgia loses he'll be the best player on the #1 team. :P

Well deserved for Hawkins. He absolutely saved Michigan's undefeated season and probably deserves the game ball. Hard to imagine Nebraska wasn't going to go right down the field and at least be in position to kick a game-winning FG. They'd otherwise mostly been getting whatever they wanted in the second half.

Hats off to Hawkins, and Moody as well. He was one cool customer and just freaking nailed all of those kicks. And Michigan needed every single last one of them.

At the end of the link, it lists all the season's POTW so far. That includes Illinois getting all of the first week's POTW b/c only Illinois played.

Awards like this are inherently screwy because worthy players get screwed—see Enlightened Bum's comment above—but to award players when only their team is playing seems stupid.

And for the second week running Adrian Hutchinson is PFF's defensive player of the week.

So in consecutive weeks we've had the Defensive player of the week in the Big Ten in Ojabo and Hawkins while the good people PFF give Hutch the nod.

Throw in Dax's INT and I'm beginning to think this D is pretty good.

Moody deserves a lot of credit.  He has had to battle Nordin for years, who was a flashy recruit (for a kicker), and yet he just kept winning the battles by consistently hitting kicks.  And his leg has gotten stronger and stronger over the years to the point that he is now IMO a legitimate NFL prospect.

That being said, I think with 2020 being a mulligan he is eligible to come back next year, and Harbaugh would obviously take him.  I wonder if he doesn't get anyone telling him he will be drafted (and often kickers are signed as free-agents unless they are like Jason Hanson) if he will come back?  Only 3 PK were drafted last year.
