interview done on BTN a few weeks ago with abbott. probably the best programming ive seen on the channel. they talked about the time he played on the US national team in cuba and you could see the shock still in his eyes about their reaction to the first batter he faced. the cuban leadoff hitter laid down a bunt only a pitcher would have a chance to get him out with. abbott was like a cat off the mound, fielded it, threw the runner out at first. he said the entire cuban bench was in awe, and that abbott himself was in just as much awe that he had that sort of mental edge over the cubans after one pitch.
