Grant Newsome article

Just got home from work and waiting for me in the mail was my high school's alumni magazine featuring none other than Grant Newsome on the cover. I have yet to read the article, but it's a pretty long piece for the publication. You should be able to access it from the link provided. The article starts on page 22.

Most big-time independent (private) schools do. And Lawrenceville is one of the big-timeiest. $65k/year, powerhouse programs across the board, etc.

An alumni magazine is a fundraising tool, in addition to its other functions.

We have Ojabo coming in next year from Blair Academy, which is a little more rural, a little, some would say a lot, less big-timey than Lawrenceville. But still in that same NJ-NY independent school community.

Glad he doing well off the field.  He's an excellent example of a student athlete, and hopefully he goes on to do great things.

*sigh* Losing Newsome, imho, resulted in the Iowa and OSU losses that year.  He was doing a great job at tackle.

This was a fascinating read.  Thanks for sharing.  I already had a very high opinion of Grant and this article just reinforced it.  What a great young man.  And it paints the University in a great light as well - it’s not just lip service that we take care of our athletes - and that makes me proud as an alum.
