A good thing we still have Rolder, then, and Colson and Barrett. If we look at the stats of those who left for "greener pastures" in 2022, most of those kids were not "regrettable" losses. Of course, having depth is great, but some guys want to leave and get on the field more, sooner. They cannot wait for injuries or for others to go pro.

Many of these kids want to be four-year starters in a sport in which physical development and learning the game take time, but young guys often don't fathom this because they--ironically, but importantly--believe they are the best. 

It's true at all levels, in all sports.
