Friday POSBANG

Submitted by The Fugitive on

It's time.  We are due for a big road win.  We are due for a big upset. It's time to give the Nittany Kitties another beating.

Let's BANG in preparation for muppets on Saturday night.

Meanwhile, let's get a glimpse into the future of our PSU foes after Nordin hits a game icer from 40 yards out.

When I ski bummed at Winter Park, CO, they used to do this just before they shut the lifts down for the season.  It looks like that might be Winter Park based on the ridgeline, if that's to the east of the slope.

In any event, it was a "close the resort" tradition there (and probably other places), and if someone did not know to lean back as they hit the slush/water (and was buzzed or worse)?  Hilarity ensued.  And nobody got seriously hurt, except for their pride.

When James Franklin got to PSU he had to go door to door and tell everyone the football team protects pederasts.

Dude had a serious eating disorder, was clinically depressed for a while, and came public about it.  I'm kinda not a fan of that program in general (culture of denial, cult status for a deeply-flawed Joe Paterno, etc.), but Joey Julius is a good man from everything I've seen.

Now, based on this .gif, he did not seem to understand that putting your feet six inches apart while leaning backward is a bad way to take a block ... .

This occurred after Julius had taken out a number of players with blindside hits after kickoffs throughout the season.  Apparently Minnesota had had enough of it and decided to go the eye-for-an-eye route.

I do remember the Journey story on Julius.  It was pretty interesting, but doesn't excuse him trying to hurt people with cheap shots.  What goes around...

I remember his cheap shot on Jourdan Lewis quite well, and have no sympathy for the hit he took here.  But calling him "fat" when we know about his eating disorder and struggles seemed a tad cruel*.  And who knows, putting a light on his backstory may help someone on the board who's struggling through similar issues.

To clarify, I think the .gif you posted is very funny.  (Hence my second paragraph in the original reply to your comment.)  He had pretty terrible form for someone trying to be a hardass on the field, and it's good to see that Minnesota teed him up.  "You wanna play rough, kicker?"

As an aside, notice how he adjusts his facemask while the Gopher is bearing down on him.  What's up with that?

*I write this from a glass house.  The view is freakin' spectacular up here!
