Freep Allegations related - Joe Pa on Big Ten Network last night

Submitted by BlueGoM on
I can't find a clip of it, was shown last night, but he's talking about his players at the post-game and begins discussing how much work his kids were working off season and later says [emphasis mine] " They BETTER have done something off-season" and then follows up with " But it's all voluntary " at which the audience laughed. This is just a bit more evidence that says to me, that this whole Freep article / practice time controversy is a tempest in a teapot and will likely result in a big fat NOTHING happening.

I'm not even worried about it. People like JoePa and other coaches, media pundits like Herbstreit and Craig James, and all the important heads within the AD think this is laughable.

I think the only one making a big deal over this is the Freep. If Bill Martin investigates deep enough to satisfy the NCAA I think the Freep will be laughed out of the press room. GO RR and GO BLUE!!!!!

Yeah, I think it says something when coaches like Jim Tressel and Joe Paterno, as well as people like Kirk Herbstreit, Craig James, Chad Henne, Larry Foote, etc. etc., all of whom played in major programs, say there is no substance to this report.

...with the comments that re: Craig James. When he called the whole thing a "witch hunt," I thought ZING! No one buys these allegations; no one believes they're worth their weight. I did see that part of JoePa's presser on the BTN this morning. I liked how he said "they BETTER be practicing in the off-season" *pause* "I mean, on their own. Voluntarily. Of course." Everyone chuckled.
