Former OL John Prepolec (Chef Johnny Prep) now educating kids on nutrition

I thought you'd all get a little kick out of this. I found it today while researching content to support an upcoming event for my company and one of our sponsors, and it was too good not to pass on in the lull of the offseason.

John Prepolec was an O-Lineman (but never a starter. In fact, I can't find that he ever made the field) during the 1977 and 1978 seasons at M. While attending school in AA, he apparently frequented one of the mexican places (again, no idea which) so much that he ended up deciding to become a chef. Now, he's the national spokesperson for Zoup! out of Southfield, and spends a great deal of his time supporting healthy eathing initatives for children! And this from an O-Lineman!

So, 1941 S&C says, "Eat Roughage". 1990's S&C said, "Eat Pizzas". 2010's S&C said, "Drink Chocolate Milk". Evidently, 1970's S&C said, "Eat Tacos, and then become a health nut". I like it.

back at what was then Bloomfield Hills Junior High (now apparently called BH Middle School).  He was the biggest kid in our grade back then.  My best friend had to wrestle him in gym class once - not with good results for my friend!  But he was a nice guy as I remember.   Not sure if he went to U-M via Cranbrook School or Lahser H.S. in Bloomfield Hills.  Really neat what he's doing now.  I'll have to check out the show.

I'm pretty sure Prepolec went to Cranbrook in 7th grade -- same as me, same year -- and then went on to BH JH and Lahser HS.  We both played football on Cranbrook's 7th grade squad.  I think...  Anyway, he was huge but too nice of a guy to play big time college OL.  There just wasn't any "nasty" in him.  I don't doubt, though that he walked on in '77 or '78.  He would have graduated Lahser in 77.
